I am a mother to a preemie princess born in March 2009 and a Mama’s boy born in December 2012. I am the one person that if you don't want a truthful answer...don't ask me the question. Yes, I will tell you...you look fat in that dress, no..those shoes don't go well with that belt...or don't bother buying that baby product because you'll never use it! Trust me, sometimes you just need a truthful answer, hear that someone else has gone through the same thing or just someone to talk and connect with for support. M’s birthday party was this past weekend, and I promised some pics and a play by play so buckle up cause here we GO! GO! GO! GO! on an adventure! The thinga-majigger is up and away!!! M’s outfit was perfect! Black leggings with red and white striped legwarmers with a mini hat in red… it was awesome and everyone loved it! So M’s 3rd bday is coming up and man this one is driving me crazy! She wanted a Cat in the Hat theme this year, and it’s like pulling teeth to find anything “Seuss-esq" here in Canada. For months I’ve been trying to talk “M” into moving into a big girl bed. She’ll be 3 in a few month so it’s about that time! She never climbed out of it so we weren’t forced to switch her over prematurely. Any time I brought up the subject with her she either changed it or said she didn’t want to leave her crib. For the last month and a half, “M” has been in the worst mood in the morning and also right before bed. I wake her up for preschool and she runs and cries and tells me not to talk to her. You know, the “regular” stuff. I’ve found that it’s actually really taken a toll of me. I’m super tired before and after work, and dealing with her is actually really stressful. The other night we were driving home from preschool/work. We usually take some back streets to beat some of the traffic and jump on the highway a bit closer to home and got cut off by a big transport truck. Holding every foul word I have ever heard in my life in, as I bit my tongue, I hear a little voice from the backseat say, “O….M…..G….Really?” I thought to myself, "Say WHAT?" So I have a milestone birthday coming up in 2 weeks and I’m a bit indifferent about the whole thing, but it still kinda sucks. Almost all of my friends are older than I am so I’m not getting any sympathy from them, just the whole, “It’s about time!” or, “Really? I thought you were older...” comments which, really, I don’t know how to take. Do I look older that I am? I don’t think so. I got carded at the liquor store a few weeks...

Right from the NICU, “M” used a soother (aka – Choo-Choo) to soothe herself. Well, also in the NICU she had to be taught how to suck because she was born so early. At that time, I would do anything for her to be able to feed from the bottle, just so we could go home! 5 ½ weeks was waaaay past my breaking point. Now that she’s 2 ½ (where has the time gone?) So I’ve had a bit of back luck health wise for the last little while. She starts pre-school.. and I get strep/tonsillitis… twice. Did I mention they were both within like 7 weeks of each other? Ya, nice. Then what happens? During my second round of throat issues did I not twist my knee at softball?  I mean bad too. Hospital for x-rays, a week off my feet, crutches, brace, ice, and pain killers…the whole 9 yards. Not to mention the...

So I’ve been trying to find some fun stuff for us to do as a family and not break the bank on top of it. We did take “M” to Canada’s Wonderland. She was sooo short that she could almost physically walk under the measuring chart, never mind being tall enough for any of the rides without parental supervision. She had a blast… went on some rides, played a few games (and won a few prizes. Go figure only my kid would actually be competitive...

So lately I’ve been a little AWOL and I’ll apologize now! Pretty much I’m so busy that, really,  I don’t have time for much of anything anymore. M is in daycare, I’ve got full time work, hubby’s baseball, my baseball plus blogging, my product review site and a new small joint venture as well.  Oh, then I had strep throat, M had a sinus infection (thank you preschool.
