Mommy Time Out

Hi! I'm Angela Hickman and I'm a Milton mom to a beautiful girl and handsome boy! Yep I have the "Million Dollar" family:) I love being a mom and my wish is to one day be a stay at home mom. It's tough being a full time employee, mom to highly energetic kids and wife to a wonderful husband. There isn't much time for a Mommy Time Out but I always try to find a little time. I love to shop and find new things that help make life easier and sometimes even more fun. My blog is all about the joys and frustrations of being a mom and hopefully helping other parents find products that will help make their life easier.

Thanks Mom!

Being a mom has been the most rewarding job I have ever had. I love my kids with all my heart and even though it’s not always a happy go lucky job, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Being a mom has made me think a lot about my relationship with my own mom. Growing up I spent a lot of time disagreeing with my parents. I didn’t like that I couldn’t go outside and play whenever I wanted to and what do you mean I have to clean my own...

Mother’s Day

My latest book “I Am So The Boss Of You: An 8 Step Guide To Giving Your Family “The Business” compares life in the corporate lane to life in the car pool lane, and provides tips on how moms can use corporate structure and rules to rule the household. But while many concepts are transferrable between home and office, Mother’s Day is an event that is really only celebrated at home, not in the workplace. I don’t think it’s a mistake...

My Kids’ First Club Med Vacation

Truth be told, I’m afraid that my kids are now spoiled. They have been to a Club Med village before… but never like this. Both kids have been to Club Med resorts — in utero… Club Med is perfect for a babymoon and we enjoyed relaxing vacations both pregnancies. My son visited the Cancun village when he was just two years old, but this was their first experience with Mini Club Med. And what an experience it was, for the entire...

Mother’s day… what it’s really about

I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little excited about this Mother’s Day. It’s the first one with baby “T” here and honestly it’s the first one where I don’t feel like something is missing. I didn’t even notice that I felt like something was missing until he was born…weird. It’s exciting and sad all at the same time. It’s my first one with him, but my last with a new baby. M isn’t in pre-school, she’s home with me so no crafts...

To Tell Or Not To Tell, That Is The Question

I know every woman is different when it comes to being able to keep her pregnancy a secret. Some can hide it with ease, others don't want to hide it and share their news right away. For me, because of our miscarriage, I was very nervous to share my news too soon, but I also didn't want the stress of trying to hide it like the first time around. So we decided to tell our immediate family and our best friends right away…but we didn't tell them...

My Twin Birth Story

On Wednesday, April 10th, I was on my way to my weekly OB appointment. Little did I know that I would go into labour that night. My life forever changed in the wee hours of April 11th as we welcomed two beautiful angels into our family, our twin girls Isla and Gwendolyn. I began my checkup with an ultrasound. All seemed good until the technician calculated the girl's weight. It came as quite a shock that Baby A hadn't gained weight in the two...

Can women really have it all? Celebrity Mom’s Sound Off

This is a question all moms struggle with.  Can we really have it all?  We got the scoop from Hollywood mommies on this subject. New mom Drew Barrymore recently opened up about the illusion of having a ‘perfect’ life. When asked how she does it all, she replied: “I can’t and I don’t.” She added: “It sucks when you’ve worked really hard for certain things and you have to give them up because you know that you’re going...

Packing the Daddy Go Bag

If you are nearing your wife’s due date you will absolutely want to be prepared and ready to go at a moment’s notice. There are certain items that all daddies need to bring to the hospital on delivery day. Keep in mind that Mother Nature does not always consider your plans. You should have a backpack ready to go, so you can get up and get moving - no matter when Baby decides to arrive. The bag you pack for the hospital will be your...
