Our Sound Sleeper, Rosemary Greisman
As a mom of four children, I know how important it is to have a good night's sleep. With over 20 years experience working with infants and children, and a passion for babies, I am committed to helping you solve your child's sleep challenges in a way that fits your parenting style. I founded Our Sound Sleeper to empower parents with the tools that will give them the confidence to raise happy children. Big Fat Lies Moms Believe
I don’t know about you, but when I became a mom I also became more self-critical. It was as if when I gave birth to my daughter, I also gave birth to a new clan of Inner Critics whose mission was to create a swirl of negative thoughts in my head. I like to call these addictive negative thoughts Big Fat Lies. I’m also a life coach, so I’ve coached hundred of moms and have witnessed firsthand how they become their own worst enemy. After...

“On-the-Go” Tips for Parents & Caregivers
With the holidays quickly approaching, here are some tips for shopping with your wee ones: Keep to a schedule. Make it easier on everyone by running errands or scheduling appointments in between your child’s meals and naps. This will ensure your child is rested, fed, and ready to go. Don’t try to cram too many stops into one trip—this often leads to frustration, tears, or meltdowns. Make a “go-time” list. Your child will do a lot...

Smells Like Teens Dispirited
I recently engaged in a debate online with other parents about whether they thought the Teen Years or the Toddler Years were harder to survive. Depending on the age of your children, opinions vary, although I think that parents of toddlers who nod and say “I hear teens are worse” don’t really believe anything could be difficult than the perilous parenting of a tippy and tantruming toddler. Of course both ages and stages have their...
Adventures in Food: The Strawberry
Me: “Look at this delicious, red, fresh strawberry.” This piqued my son’s interest enough to come over to where I was standing in our kitchen. Me: “Do you want to try it?” Son: “No.” Me: “Why not? You only need to take one bite and if you don’t like it, you don’t have to eat the rest.” Hook, line and sinker. Son: “Um… ok.” I watched as my lovely little boy took a deep breath and bit into that...

Getting back to Normal
For the first week after delivery try to rest whenever you can. Don’t be tempted to try to catch up on everything you have not had the time to do. Call your doctor if you have any problems before your postpartum check-up. You may be rather disheartened when you see your body after birth. Your stomach won’t be flat, your breasts will be large, and the tops of your legs will feel heavy. But if you practice your postnatal exercises as soon as...
