Baby Bottom Line

My name is Lisa, a GTA Mom... and the Mom behind The Baby Bottom Line. I love Mommy sites, product testing and dishing about them with other Moms! I am a mother to a preemie princess born in March 2009 and a Mama’s boy born in December 2012. I am the one person that if you don't want a truthful answer...don't ask me the question. Yes, I will tell you...you look fat in that dress, no..those shoes don't go well with that belt...or don't bother buying that baby product because you'll never use it! Trust me, sometimes you just need a truthful answer, hear that someone else has gone through the same thing or just someone to talk and connect with for support. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here to dish about it!

Diono RadianRXT Car Seat Review

I received a pair of RadianRXT car seats for review from Diono. The RadianRXT is like the king of all car seats, I swear! We set up one for M (forward-facing) and the other for T (rear-facing). Forward-facing is for kids 22-65lbs, M is 34lbs which means she’s still too small for just the booster, so we also set her up with the 5-point harness. The booster option fits up to 120lbs, meaning that M will never need another car seat! The...

Will she be a slope bunny?

So we’ve decided that this is the year we are going to teach M to ski. I’m not a skier. Hubby tried to teach me to snowboard, and I’m just awful! It’s true what they say about it being harder to learn when you’re older! I’m afraid to fall because, well, I KNOW it’ll hurt for like a WEEK later! So, we’ll see if I’m up for trying it again but intermediate slopes is where I’ll have to stick to. M on the other hand is a little...

Halloween…our family traditon

Growing up around this time of year was nuts! My mom, obsessed with Halloween. Our house was the one on the street that everyone HAD to see what we came up with that year. From painting the front windows by hand with a Halloween landscape to hanging paper bats in the entire main floor of the house for the “full effect”, this was the time of year I grew to love. Plus, Halloween also meant that my birthday was right around the corner as...

What people DON’T tell you about pregnancy and afterbirth!

Everyone knows that if you don’t want a truthful answer just don’t ask me the question. Well, someone asked me what pregnancy was really like so I polled a few friends, took some of my own instances and compiled it all for my readers. Here’s the down low. Reader discretion is advised. What happens? · Nausea. Everyone says this, but until you’ve experienced it 24/7 or have to take pills to make it even bearable you have NO idea...

Got to “hand” it to Thanksgiving!

I’m really excited that this will be T’s first Thanksgiving so I've been coming up with a handful messy craft ideas we’re going to try to tackle! 1. Hand and fingerprint turkeys Bust out the paint, slather it on and use your hand and finger prints to make fun turkeys for cards…pictures…place settings and keepsakes. Make sure someone helps the little ones with drawing in the feet, beak and eyes. 2. Fall Wreaths Let your...

How to pick apples!

I have never taken M apple picking. I"m not exactly sure why, just haven’t done it. So, this year is the year I think! Perfect photo opp with T and she’ll have a blast! I did want to do a bit of research before going about how to tell if the apple is ripe and ready for picking. I found a few interesting facts that I thought I would share with everyone: Once you pick an apple off a tree, it stops ripening. The apples on the outside of the...

Surviving school when your kids are in different stages in their lives!

I was having a lot of anxiety about M going to school while I was on mat-leave. It’s a lot of extra work, well worth it yes but A LOT to take on all at once. The trick is to stay uber-organized like, I’m talking about, OCD territory here! How do I get a four+ year old and an eight month old out the door by 7:30? Well, here are a few tricks on how to stay organized while keeping your sanity. 1. Have rules, a schedule and don’t break the...

Big girl school…YIKES! She’s gonna starve to death!

D-day is coming, M goes to JK! While I’m happy and sad at the same time, I completely understand that she IS in fact growing up but I’m more scared of having to prepare her LUNCH more than anything else. She was awesome in pre-school, adjusted well, had fun and learned a ton. However, I didn’t have to make her lunch and she's kinda picky sometimes! She also takes forever to eat a meal, so I'm not sure how this is going to fair over in the...

Smart Trike Four-in-One Recliner: Review

I had the opportunity to try out a Smart Trike Four-in-One Recliner (in black) with baby T and he loves it! The seat is adjustable and reclines, it has a ton of features too. Firstly, it reclines! This is awesome! It means T can take a snooze while M hits the park or we go for a long walk. Secondly, the steering is killer! M had a trike similar to this and this puts the other to shame. Its so easy to steer and I don't need to pop a wheelie just...

Birthday Party for Canada!

Every year we have a birthday party for Canada. We bake it a cake, we sing happy birthday (well M does) ,and the national anthem… it’s our thing. Last year was awesome! We made a white and red swirled cake, iced it in white frosting and made it look like a flag with sparkly red sprinkles! We also have our friends and family over and have a BBQ to hang out and celebrate. Hopefully this year the weather will be good and we will be able to...

Getting kids to eat healthy – the lies parents tell

When it comes to picky eaters I definitely don’t have one. Actually, come to think of it, she just may be a carnivore. Man can she eat a steak and she complains when it’s cooked more than medium rare. We tend to BBQ a lot in the summer and to be honest as long as the Q isn’t buried by snow, we do quite a bit in the winter too. This family loves meat! I’ve learned over the past four years with M that there is an art to teaching your...

Mother’s day… what it’s really about

I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little excited about this Mother’s Day. It’s the first one with baby “T” here and honestly it’s the first one where I don’t feel like something is missing. I didn’t even notice that I felt like something was missing until he was born…weird. It’s exciting and sad all at the same time. It’s my first one with him, but my last with a new baby. M isn’t in pre-school, she’s home with me so no crafts...
