Double The Fun
I'm Brianne and I am a local TV producer and videographer in York Region. My job enables me to share stories and experiences with my viewers. At the age of 32 I am now writing a new chapter of my own...I'm a first time expectant mommy of not only one but two bundles of joy! The journey hasn't been an easy one. It's included a devastating miscarriage, infertility fears, followed by the unexpected yet amazing news that my husband and I will be welcoming twins in the spring. I started writing my blogs as a way to share my experiences, the good and the bad, as well as a way to help other moms and dads out there that might be going through something similar.
Sleep Baby Sleep!
If you’ve read my previous blogs you’ll know that when it comes to sleeping our girls are pretty awesome. I know some of you are cursing me right now as you read this with bloodshot eyes drinking your third cup of coffee for the day, but I honestly believe that the NICU trained them to be good sleepers. Not always, but for the most part. We also did sleep training with them from an early age. We never rocked them back to sleep (mainly...
Toughest Decision Ever
I entered into the world of blogging by accident really. It all started when I was put on bed rest as I entered the third trimester of my twin pregnancy. As a journalist I needed an outlet and writing was it. That was two years ago! Since then I've shared my story of struggling to conceive, then of giving birth to two beautiful preemies as well as the exhausting, fun and crazy moments after that. It's been quite a journey and jotting it all...
My Life Hacks
Between building with play doh, reading stories, making meals, snacks and tidying up at least three times a day I'll admit, free time is something I don't have a lot of. But when I do have a moment to myself my new guilty pleasure starts with a 'P' and ends with 'interest' , as is the case for many women I know. Not only has it made me realize my love of all things 'do it yourself' but it's also helped me to save some money (something very...
Christmas Saving
Every year at Christmas my husband and I have quite the list of people to shop for; parents, nephews, brothers, sisters, friends and other family members. We don't go overboard or buy elaborate gifts, but with the list above, even the smallest, yet most meaningful items can quickly add up. And now that we've added our own kids to that list there's even more shopping to be done. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. This is my...
I Renege!
Okay, do you remember when I wrote my recent blog 'Mommies Don't Have Time to Get Sick'? Well I will admit that I wish I had never written it! It has nothing to do with the actual writing itself or getting backlash from it, but it has everything to do with the fact that I think I jinxed myself! Since writing that blog at the start of the fall season I have been sick for the entire month of November. And I don't mean sniffles and a little...
These Boots are made for…my Girls!
How many one-and-a-half year olds do you know with custom boots? Well add mine to the list. Now before you judge me for getting special boots made for my girls who will likely grow out of them before they wear them out, please let me explain. Last winter when the girls were crawling like crazy I put them in Padraig slippers. I LOVED those slippers and wanted something similar for them this winter for those days that it's not snowing, not...
Fisher-Price® Laugh & Learn® Smart Stages™ Review
If you're looking for Christmas gift ideas be sure to read this blog! Here are two items that you should definitely put on your child's wish list (at least in my opinion you should). Like almost all parents I am very familiar with Fisher-Price®. From toys to swings to highchairs we've all grown up with the popular brand in our homes. I will admit however, that I had no clue what the Fisher-Price® Laugh & Learn® Smart Stages™ Toys...
One Nap Only
I know many of you can relate. We just bit the bullet and made the switch from two naps with our 19 month old twins to one! I should count my blessings though that they lasted as long as they did. Many of their toddler friends dropped one of their naps months ago. So many people told me that I'd love just one nap a day. That it would give me so much more time and freedom to get things done. I can honestly say that I didn't believe them. I...
Terrible Teething
At 19-months old almost all of my girls' teeth have come in. They started teething around 10-months of age so it's been a very long process. It hasn't been a painful one though (for them or for me). Each of them struggled with a bit of pain when their first two teeth came in, oh so many months ago, but ever since then, even when their first set of molars came in they didn't even flinch. Fast forward to Thanksgiving weekend this year. I...
Lesson Learned: Clothing Sale Follow Up
Last month I wrote about all of the time and effort I had been putting into preparing for an upcoming local mom to mom sale. I had such high hopes for the sale! I had everything organized, labelled, categorized by size and even hung up on racks for display. The clothes I was selling were in great condition, some still had the original tags on! I figured if I priced them low (I'm talking a $30 winter jacket, tags on for $8) I should come...
Finicky Feedings
If you've been following my blogs you'll know that when it comes to eating it's never been any easy feat for my girls. I love that they're now at the stage where if they're hungry I can just give them a bit of whatever I'm eating. No need to slowly introduce purees anymore, no need to mash up food for them, easy right? Well yes and no. Yes, they have plenty of teeth and can eat pretty much anything, but that's only if they choose to eat...
They’re Just Clothes…Right?
With two 18 month old girls, we've gathered a lot of clothing in ouCheap Pandora Australia Saler house. Bins, bins and more bins…not a good thing to have when you have a hubby who doesn't like clutter. True, the clothes are all very organized in their big rubbermaid bins but they're just taking up way too much space in our home. So I was given the task of selling everything from itty bitty booties to fancy frilly dresses. Something...
