The Tiny Human

So… finally “M” just “let go!” and started walking by herself! At an adjusted age of 17 months… little bit of a late bloomer…but really…she’s still tiny so she had to build up her strength first. The funny thing is… she’s actually really balanced…so I guess the longer the wait the better they walk right off the bat. She even falls properly…..but out… arms forward to stop her face. I’m actually really impressed…. walking and talking…. man I’m exhausted.

The other night she headed for the stairs… (around bed time)… “M, where you going?”….. “Ni-night”…. “ok… you want some milk?”……”ya”…………”do you need your diaper changed?”…. “ya…pee-pee”… I thought to myself…um… wth… am I actually having a conversation with her…and she WANTS to go to bed???

Everyone always says… you want them to walk…and as soon as they do…. you wish they’d sit still. Ok, I admit she’s a little Tasmanian devil sometimes….but really… I’m enjoying not having to worry if she’s going to fall and hurt herself…she gets her crayons… colouring book.. sits down and colours… or goes to the fridge and gets her milk or a snack (I have to help her open the seal of the door…but she closes it)… this is crazy! I’m loving her new found freedom! Now… the only thing is… she needs a good pair of walking shoes… so I’m on the hunt for something for her. This is awesome!
