Dancing makes me happy!
I’m sure like all moms out there we all wake up a few times in the night to deal with the, “I need you” and “I’m having a bad dream” right?
Well, on Monday it was like every other morning but I was extra tired for some odd reason (not very odd I guess since both the kids were super sick) and I managed to make breakfast for the kids, my husband and, well, I ate all the leftovers because I didn’t have time to make anything for myself!
After getting both girls dressed, washed up and making a “French braid” for my 6-year-old who thinks she’s 12, I managed to get myself showered and ready for my class – my ME time! Believe it or not, going to teach my Salsa Babies class at Forest Hill Loblaw’s makes me HAPPY! Of course the moms and babies are always fun but I get to do what I love – DANCE!
I miss my dancing days when I would frequent the ever so slimy but amazing fun nightclubs and I would Salsa dance until the wee hours. Life has changed for the good and so now I get my dance fix early in the morning but it’s a fabulous way to start my day! I feel re-energized and ready to face anything that comes my way – even a poopy diaper!
I am lucky to have my two beautiful girls who have allowed me to dance with them and be by their side as they turn into little ladies. The only thing I have to learn is to make sure to take more “mommy” time and not feel bad! I feel guilty when I go out for a business lunch and realize most of the lunch was talking about everything but work but I think it would be unrealistic to think just because I am a mompreneur that I have to be working all day, right? Well, I’m off to teach and imagine I’m on Dancing with the Stars with a baby strapped to me in a carrier.
