Pamper Your Pregnant Wife
When your wife is pregnant, as an expectant daddy, one of your duties is to pamper her by making her feel extra special everyday; after all, she is carrying your child!
Don’t get me wrong, pampering your wife doesn’t necessarily mean expensive spa days and outings. I’ve put together a simple list of reminders that will make your pregnant wife feel indulged – without breaking the bank.
It’s the Little Things: As you probably know from being married – it’s all about the little things. Well, this doesn’t change during pregnancy. I suggest telling your pregnant wife she is beautiful – everyday; rub her sore feet; give her a massage; take pictures of her progress; and buy her small thoughtful gifts like toys for the baby, pregnancy books, comfortable clothes and more. All of these seemingly small things add up and will help your expecting wife feel special, treasured and loved, so she has more time to focus on being healthy and preparing for baby.
Date Night: Prepare a special night to share with your pregnant wife every week. Ask your wife if she is craving anything in particular, and cook up a delicious meal (or order-in if your culinary skills are bleak). Don’t forget to set the table, make up a couple of delicious “mocktails” and queue up a date night movie. Spending time together as a couple, and keeping date nights routine will keep your relationship strong throughout pregnancy and beyond.
Do Your Chores: Your wife is carrying your child – so the least you can do is carry your weight in helping with household chores. Keep the bathroom clean, do the dishes, help with the shopping, wash the laundry, etc. Around month 8 you might begin to feel like you’re resemblance to Cinderella is growing, but your wife will appreciate your help and services more than the Cinderella’s wicked stepmother (can you tell I live with toddlers?).
Communicate: One of the most important things you can do to make your expectant wife feel special and know you care is to communicate. Make time each and every day to listen to her thoughts, concerns, excitements and more. Doing this will help you feel more connected to the pregnancy and her feel like she has a strong partner standing by her side during the life changing journey that is pregnancy.
It may seem like a lot, but let’s face it – you’re about to be a daddy. Life as you know it is about to change forever – for the better, of course!
Good luck!
Sincerely,
Daddy Nickell
