Booty Camp is almost over for me…

I am writing today from a place of pain. My neck hurts. I don’t know if it’s because of the million sit ups Jess made us do yesterday, or if it’s because both my 2.5yo and 5yo were in my bed last night. Sleeping very awkwardly.

I think it’s both. Also, my arms hurt, my butt is sore, and I think I need a hip replacement. It was a crazy Booty Camp workout yesterday and I’m really going to miss it. I can’t do another session until November but I think I’ll sign up again in the spring. I’ll be sure to let you know.

It’s almost over. Cue music. I have one more class to complete my second session of Booty Camp and what results have I achieved? You really want to know?

Well, after my first session, I didn’t actually lose any weight, but I did lose a few inches here and there – I really don’t want to get into specifics for two reasons:

1) I don’t want you to really know how many inches I need to lose.

2) I don’t really want to know the truth myself.

Sad, but true (cue Metallica). Bottom line is I feel good, but my clothes still fit the same way – this is how I’m gauging it. Granted, I have not really done more than the two workouts a week, this summer has been crazy busy for us. So really, I should have put way more effort into it. Honestly? I’m not in any rush to lose weight, slow and steady wins the race right? Uh-huh.

I’ve really enjoyed Booty Camp. Our instructor is all kinds of fabulous and I’ve had some great laughs with my friend Nicole. I feel stronger, and I have discovered that I really love exercising outside.

Except when we are doing planks and pushups uphill… that’s a whole new brand of crazy. Try to imagine being on all fours on a serious incline – if you’re in Toronto you know what I mean. If you’re not: Google Christie Pits Park. Holy. Hills. Batman.

You’re trying to do push ups… but you can feel your knees slipping. You’re trying to grip the grass with your fingers, but you can hear it ripping and then BAM. Your knees have slipped, the grass has torn and you’re flat on the ground. Now that’s funny. Hell, if you don’t laugh at that, you will most certainly cry.

It might not look like it from this pic but this is a HUGE hill!

To be honest, I think Nicole and I will be doing Jess a favour by not going. I secretly think (secretly here on my public blog) that we annoy her a little bit. I mean we laugh a lot. A LOT. And if I was an instructor I’d be annoyed that these two bitches are disrupting my class with their silliness. Even though we may be annoying, we are having a hell of a good time. Sorry Jess!

Next we’re going to try Laughter Yoga. Maybe that’s more up our alley, seeing as we never shut up. Hahahaha.
