Birthday Cake decorating doldrums

I’ve gone down the slippery cake-frosted slope of baking theme birthday cakes for my kids. My son’s birthday is months away (in July), but I am starting to think about what to do for his cake on his eighth birthday.

The problem is, I started with this on his fifth birthday:


And then on his sixth birthday, I did this:


And finally, this is what I did for his seventh birthday:


My cake-decorating skills are seriously tapped out. I don’t even own a pastry bag! There is only so far Zip-loc baggie and bulk candy is going to get me when it comes to birthday cakes.
