Like peanuts? Try Roasted Chick Peas

By: Deb Lowther Chick PeasIMG_0964 2

My newest favorite snack in the whole world! So easy, so crunchy and they last in a sealed container on the counter, as long as you can stop snacking on them! One cup of chick peas gives you 50% of your daily fibre requirements and contain 20grams of protein! I enjoy them raw on salads or as a summer salad with some feta and cucumbers, but roasting gives them a whole new flavour and quenches that evening Crunchy Craving!

Recipe

Open, rinse and pat dry 1 or 2 cans of chick peas, also known as garbonzo beans.

Spread out on a cookie sheet

Bake at 450 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Watching carefully for the last 10 minutes so they don’t burn. They are fully roasted when crunchy all the way through, if still soft in the centre, they don’t taste the same, roast a few minutes more.
