Spice of the Season Mulled Wine
Simmering spiced wine on the stove makes the whole house smell like Christmas. With this alcohol-removed version, you don’t have to miss out on that special aromatic memory (which may be amplified due to your heightened senses!)

 

1 bottle Fre Merlot alcohol-removed wine

1 teaspoon almond extract

2 cinnamon sticks*

3 whole cloves

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 tablespoon honey

Pour wine into a double boiler over medium heat. Add allother ingredients, and stir until honey has dissolved.Reduce heat, cover, and gently simmer for 15 minutes,stirring occasionally. Serve in a bar mug.

* If desired, buy additional cinnamon sticks and garnish
each cup with one.

 

Sparkling Pomegranate Snowflake

 

Top off a wonderful year with a special “champagne” cocktail. And just think: By this time next year, your babywill be celebrating with you!

 

2 tablespoons granulated, white sugar

1 sugar cube

Dash blood orange bitters

1 ½ ounces pomegranate juice

3 ounces nonalcoholic sparkling wine

1 teaspoon pomegranate seeds

 

Rim a champagne flute with sugar. Place the sugar cube into the bottom of the flute, and soak it with the bitters. Add pomegranate juice and alcohol-removed sparkling wine. Drop in pomegranate seeds.
