I wish I knew the answer, but I don't because it seems to vary depending on the child. Maybe co-sleeping is the solution for the short-term!

My daughter just started sleeping through the night at 4, and sometimes she still doesn't. I tried everything, read all the books, articles, blogs, etc, and nothing seemed to work. Even took her to the doctor only to find she was perfectly fine. We did a little co sleeping, we did a little of me sleeping in her room, we had a bedtime routine, but somethings, I think, kids are just kids. Eventually your body will get used to not sleeping. :(

How old is your child? Mine was 4 he started sleeping in his bed, and he still comes back at least once a night for a cuddle, and I return him to his bed. I am a huge supporter of co-sleeping, I have done so with all four of my children. I know this doesn't work for everyone, obviously, and to each mother her own style because we all are trying to be our best. I would say, if baby sleeps fine with you, to bring him in and sleep with him. You will get much needed sleep, and honestly, in the long run, it doesn't hurt them. I have a 14. 5 year old, 10, 9 and 4, and all are confident, smart, well-rounded kids. Again, I am not saying my way is the only way, but you said baby likes to snuggle. Hey, they were inside tight and snuggly for almost 10 months, they just want to be near :)

Thanks Sandy. That's where we are now. It is the lesser of 2 evils but I really miss uninterrupted sleep:( I miss the days when he slept through the night. Unfortunately it was only from when he was 3mths - 6mths old:/

I feel your pain. My kids are both terrible sleepers. I tried to sleep train my daughter when she was a baby but it didn't work. The only thing that worked for us was just let her sleep in my bed after her first wake up. I'm not sure if you're ok with that, and I don't actually sleep great with my kids, but it was better than me being up and dealing with crying in the middle of the night. Just know this: you're not alone, and it will pass.
