We hosted a BabyQ last fall, as the majority of our friends are dudes it seemed the way to go.
Kept things super chill, had a lot of nerdy presents on our wish list (we're both hailing from the video game industry, so expect our daughter's going to grow up surrounded by a high level of geek stuff). It was nice to have a gift list that didn't force a visit to baby stores (terrifying!), instead asked for household basics or online purchases that took the pressure & guesswork away. As ice breakers, we had a digital baby book I designed at the party that everyone could contribute to, as well as roving photo taking for social media posting. Managed to integrate friends, family and colleagues in what is really a celebration of the next step in our collective relationships rather than a pink-splosion of frippery and gender-qualifying gifting.
