Vitamin B6 for your healthy body

Vitamin B6 is a valuable, yet often overlooked substance essential to health. For women in particular, it can play a significant role in health and well-being at various life stages.

Long known to be a factor in morning sickness, vitamin B6 deficiency has been linked to nausea in scientific studies. Even for those women who are lucky enough to have escaped the most unpleasant symptoms of morning sickness, including vomiting, vitamin B6 supplementation can still provide relief from the nausea that many pregnant women experience nonetheless.

Although deficiency of this vitamin often occurs during pregnancy and childbirth, it does appear at other times, for example due to oral contraceptive use. This can interfere with normal mental functioning and cause a range of symptoms, including mood swings. In these cases, vitamin B6 supplementation may help to stabilize functioning and improve mood.

Other types of nausea related to causes such as motion sickness and migraines may be lessened through a replenishment of vitamin B6 levels. The most useable form of B6, pyridoxine, is the active ingredient in B-natal, which provides the 25mg required for good overall health. It comes in a lozenge format that is convenient, sweet and easy to take, even during moments of queasiness. And that is especially important when you need it the most.

B-natal is now available at Babies R Us across Canada.
