Celebrity Families Share Halloween Plans

Happy Halloween from Celebrity Baby Scoop!

In celebration of the spook-tacular holiday, we’re taking a look at how some of our favorite celebrity families get festive. From Heidi Klum‘s big brood putting “spider webs and skeletons and pumpkins in every corner,” to Tori Spelling who loves to “DIY everything” with her four kids, let’s hear how Hollywood does Halloween.

Model mom Heidi Klum says she loves to celebrate the spooky season with her four kids – Leni, 9, Henry, 8, Johan, 6 1/2, and Lou, 4.

“I think I have passed on my love for Halloween to my kids,” the Project Runway host tells Celebrity Baby Scoop.

“We go all out decorating our house,” she adds. “There are spider webs and skeletons and pumpkins in every corner. They have picked out their costumes already but we like to keep them secret.”

The View host Sherri Shepherd loves to get festive with her 8-year-old son Jeffrey.

“Jeffrey is going to be a wrestler,” she tells Celebrity Baby Scoop.

She adds: “He wants mommy to be a wrestler too, but I said to him, ‘Jeffrey, have you seen the outfits that the wrestler women wear? I might as well pose for Playboy!’ How do you explain to your son, ‘Mommy can’t wear certain outfits because she has a muffin top and a C-section scar’ [laughs].”

Sister, Sister alum Tamera Mowry-Housley is set to celebrate her son Aden‘s first Halloween.

“My sister is actually having a Halloween party,” she says of her twin sister Tia Mowry-Hardrict. “So we are all going to go over there and be vampires. Even my dog!”

Actress Marissa Jaret Winokur can’t wait to get ghoulish with her 5-year-old son Zev.

“This year, Zev is going to be a zombie basketball player,” she shares with Celebrity Baby Scoop.

“I am going to take his basketball uniform from last year that he can no longer wear (because he is on a new team) and put red paint all over it,” the actress adds. “That is what my son wants to be!”

She continues: “Over the summer, he went to this awesome camp and they had a costume day. He made his old soccer uniform into a zombie soccer player costume, and now he wants to be a zombie basketball player. He loves giving out the candy on Halloween. We usually set up a picnic table outside of the gate to our house, because it is hard to get up to our house, and we decorate the table with fake pumpkins and lights. He then sits there and gives out all the candy.”

And it sounds like her sweet son really gets into the spirit of giving.

“Zev would rather give out the candy than go get the candy,” she says. “My son can have candy whenever he wants, so it’s not interesting to him. I refuse to deny him of anything, so if he wants to have candy, I let him have it. He loves giving out the candy, but he gets really controlling of it. For example, if a kid reaches in to get candy, he will get super angry because he has to put the candy in the trick-or-treat bags himself [laughs]. If he likes the trick-or-treaters’ costumes, he gives them more candy, and if the kids are older, he gives them less candy. It’s hilarious! He gives more candy to the littler kids and less candy to the bigger kids. He will sometimes say, ‘You’re a teenager, what are you doing?! Stop trick-or-treating! That’s not a costume!’ “

She adds: “Halloween is my favorite time of the year. Halloween and Thanksgiving are my favorite holidays, which I find so ironic because I am obsessed with food. I didn’t even realize that until the other day. I said to my husband, ‘I feel like it’s Thanksgiving, my favorite time of the year!’ and he responded with, ‘Yeah, Thanksgiving and Halloween are your favorite holidays…’ and I said, ‘Oh my gosh, that is so ironic because I am all about the food!’”

Former NYPD Blue actor Esai Morales will celebrate the season with his princess-obsessed daughter Mariana, 3.

“I don’t know. I think my daughter wants to be Sofia the First,” he shares with Celebrity Baby Scoop.

“She is obsessed with Sofia and being a princess,” he adds. “I have my political views on that, but they are not a concern right now. It’s too early! I have been shown a different perspective on the whole prince, princess, and royalty concept. Yet, we teach our own kids this. The biggest welfare families in the world are the royal families that live off of other people, but we won’t get into that. Right now, we will let her enjoy her fantasies.”

Reality star Tori Spelling loves to “DIY everything” with her four kids – Liam, 6, Stella, 5, Hattie, 2, and Finn, 1 – during pumpkin season.

“We love decorating, so we always go all out,” Tori shares with Celebrity Baby Scoop.

“We DIY everything in our family and we make our own costumes every year,” the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum adds. “We are working on the costumes right now, working on the pumpkins, and decorating the house, and then we will go trick-or-treating.”

She continues: “Liam and Stella challenged me this year. They wanted to be zombies, so they are going to be ballerina and Boy Scout zombies. I get to make those costumes and do great zombie make-up, so I’m really excited!”

Proud parents Bill Rancic and Giuliana Rancic recently celebrated their son Duke‘s first birthday. Now, they’re excited to get festive with their baby boy this Halloween season.

“That’s Giuliana. She is big into the holidays and things like that,” Bill tells Celebrity Baby Scoop of their Halloween plans. “She is already planning out his Halloween costume, so stay tuned.”

Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet and husband David Charvet can’t wait to get ghoulish with her four kids: Neriah, 13, Sierra, 11, Rain, 6, and Shaya, 5.

“We love Halloween – it is action packed with my brood of six,” she tells Celebrity Baby Scoop. “We’re in the process of decorating our house right now. Shaya wants to be a ninja, Rain wants to be a vampire, Neriah will be Minnie Mouse and Sierra has a handmade Sponge Bob costume, and of course it’ll all probably change the day before.”

New mom Lisa Ling has not yet decided on her daughter Jett‘s first Halloween costume.

“I don’t know yet,” Lisa tells Celebrity Baby Scoop. “My husband and I were just talking about what we are going to dress Jett up as. Let’s just put it this way – it won’t be anything sexy [laughs]. I live in Santa Monica and trick-or-treating is a big deal in that area. I will definitely take her out around the community and neighborhood.”

Backstreet Boys star A.J. McLean has a few costumes in mind this Halloween.

“I am actually going to be home this year for Halloween, so we’re trying to figure out what we’re going to do as a family,” the singer, dad to 11-month-old daughter Ava, tells Celebrity Baby Scoop.

“We all call each other monkey, so we might be a family of monkeys,” he adds. “I also thought it would be cool if I was Mario, my wife was Princess Peach, and my daughter was Toad from the Mario Bros [laughs]. What I really want to do is be Jack, Sally, and Zero from the Nightmare Before Christmas. My wife is a hair stylist and a makeup artist, so she would hook us both up perfectly.”

It sounds like Sons of Anarchy actor and father-of-one Kenny Johnson will have a spook-tacular Halloween this year.

“We usually go to Park La Brea, because it’s very kid-friendly,” the Dexter star tells Celebrity Baby Scoop.

He adds: “They get about two thousand people through there every year because it’s a gated community. We will also look for pumpkins and freaky-looking people [laughs]. My daughter wants to be Belle and I am going to be the Beast.”

Lab Rats star Hal Sparks will have some festive fun with his 2-year-old son Camden and his girlfriend’s toddler.

“My girlfriend and I both have sons and we have friends from my show that have children the same age. We are doing a group outing,” he shares with Celebrity Baby Scoop.

The actor continues: “As for costumes, he’s 2, you have to be flexible and understand this stuff is all extremely new. Little ones don’t see it the way you do, at all. It can be overwhelming. We are going to spend the week before looking at costumes and trying on masks and see what ideas he is attracted to, then create a costume from that.”

New dad Tom Arnold will celebrate his son Jaxson‘s first Halloween this year.

“It’s funny, my wife was at baby class last night and they apparently have Halloween,” Tom tells Celebrity Baby Scoop.

“She pulled up all these costumes on the Internet and got ecstatic about dressing Jaxson up for Halloween,” he continues. “It is exciting! For many years, we tried to have a baby and would always get sad when trick-or-treaters stopped by our house. We wished we could be out there too! This year is going to be so great. Even though our son is going to be very small and won’t remember it, it will be such a wonderful experience.”

Brothers & Sisters star Gilles Marini can’t wait to go trick-or-treating with his two kids – son Georges, 14, and daughter Juliana, 6.

“Yes it’s one of the super awesome things we do all together,” Gilles tells Celebrity Baby Scoop of celebrating the season with his kids.

“They already have their costumes, we always trick-or-treat in Toluca Lake,” he adds. “It’s so much fun and the kids have a blast. We wait for night to fall before going out because I believe that Halloween must be done after dark. It’s all about being scared and getting as much cavities as possible — opps, sorry, I meant as much ‘candy’ possible,” the actor jokes.

Co-anchor of OMG! Insider, Thea Andrews, can’t wait to collect some candy with her costumed cuties.

“Trick-or-treating with some very cute Clone Troopers and their friends,” she shares with Celebrity Baby Scoop.
