Mommy Time Out

Hi! I'm Angela Hickman and I'm a Milton mom to a beautiful girl and I am currently pregnant with my second child, who we have found out is a boy! I love being a mom and my wish is to one day be a stay at home. It's tough being a full time employee, mom to a highly energetic toddler and wife to a wonderful husband. There isn't much time for a Mommy Time Out but I always try to find a little time. I love to shop and find new things that help make life easier and sometimes even more fun. My blog is all about the joys and frustrations of being a mom and hopefully helping otherparents find products that will help make their life easier.

Moms Rock!

Mother’s Day is around the corner and all moms should be shown our appreciation. Moms are our first link to this life. They bring us into the world, love us and nurture us. Becoming a mommy is my biggest accomplishment in life. A lot of what I have learned about being a mother (besides through trial and error) I learned from mine.I love my mom and I know I don’t tell her that often enough. She is a wonderful mom and grandmother. As a mom,...

My Little Girl Starts School This Year

So this month my baby girl turns 4 years old.  It is bittersweet.  I am excited for the new journey she is going to embark on this year.  In September she will be starting junior kindergarten.  She will be in school 5 days a week for 2.5hrs.  She is already excited for her first day of school and often asks when she can start.  I on the other hand, am nervous for her as I am excited.  Will she make new friends, will she remember her...

Don’t breastfeed in my store! (Are you kidding me!?!)

Stop feeding your child in our store or we’ll have to call security…That is what one woman was told when she was shopping at the Dixie Outlet Mall the other day when she decided to breastfeed her one month old child. When the mother explained to the clerk that she can’t force her to leave for feeding her child, security was called to have her removed. Luckily, the security guard knew the law and explained to the clerk that she can’t be...

Not a good mama!

As you all know, I was expecting baby #2 over the Christmas holidays.  That baby made his arrival on Christmas Eve.  Things have been quite hectic since then and are finally starting to settle down.  It has been interesting getting used to life with a toddler and a newborn but I think I have finally figured some of it out. One of the things I have been trying to get used to is all of the attention my 3 year old wants now.  She was always...

Getting Excited and Nervous

I am getting sooooo excited!  There is only 25 days until my due date!  I have never been so excited for New Year's Eve as I am this year.  My little girl is also excited to meet her baby brother. As excited as I am, I am a little nervous as well.  We have done everything we can think of to include my daughter in this pregnancy.  We let her pick the name from our list of favorites.  She gives my belly a hug and kiss every night so that...

Tis The Season

Christmas is just around the corner and I am looking forward to it!  Not only are we expecting our little boy New Year’s Eve but my little Princess is of an age now where Christmas is even more exciting. She is picking the gifts that she would like to receive ad helping me pick the gifts that we will give to our family and friends. Last year I tried to explain to her that Christmas is not only about getting presents.  She was a little...

I’m a wimp

I discovered this week that my daughter, at 3 years old, is braver than I ever will be.  She is a child who loves to take chances.  She will play on the monkey bars and get mad if we try to support her.  She will slide down the biggest of slides.  When we went on our trip to Calgary (first time on a plane for her) she had to see out the window at how high we were going. Monday we went for our flu shots.  When I get a needle, I can’t...

Happy Thanksgiving!

As we all know this weekend is the Thanksgiving long weekend.  As it gets closer I sit and think about how much I have to be grateful and thankful for.  Here is what I will be giving thanks for this Monday and every day after that.  (These are not in any particular order) 1. My family – I have such a wonderful husband who I don’t think I show my appreciation enough to.  My daughter, who is beautiful, smart and the joy of my life.  I...

My self-esteem during pregnancy

I am 26 weeks pregnant and I love it, although I have had some ups and downs. My biggest down right now is the lack of sleep. The baby sits right on my ribs and it has been pretty painful for me. I would say if I got 3 solid hours of sleep at night, I am pretty lucky. My other down is how I feel about how I look. I'm a little frustrated that most of the maternity clothes I own from when I was pregnant with my Princess don't fit me. Everyone...
