Time Out with T

Mom of the Year

Hi there. Let me introduce myself. I’m a mom, I’m a wife, I’m an employee, I’m a sister, a cousin, an aunt, a friend, a running bud, and now I’m a blogger.
Let me preface this first entry by saying I am not a professional by any means – far from it (in fact, after reading a few entries some of you may think I require professional help!).

I’m just your average working mom, trying to fit it all in and keep as balanced a life as possible for ME and my family (I emphasized the word “me” because my #1 mantra is “A happy mom, makes a happy child” and husband for that matter. So I’m a firm believer in quality ME-time – whether that’s going out for drinks with the girls or going for a walk by the lake to read a book – ALONE!) It’s important for my sani-T.

My name is Teresa, but people call me T. I have a three-year-old daughter named Natalia, but we call her Tali, Talia or Gator (yes, our goal is to confuse her and I’ll explain the Gator nickname later). I have a husband named Pete and we’ve been married for nearly five glorious (read: trying) years. I joke. He’s a great husband and an even better dad.

I work for a media company and let’s say I’m in Marketing/PR. I’ve been there nearly nine years. I love it, but it can be both exhausting and gratifying at the same time. I’m sure you working moms know exactly what I mean.

You now have an idea of who I am and where I’m coming from. I will fill you in on the daily dramas, laughs, challenges and just random thoughts or rants of life as a working mom.

Hola T. What a wonderful idea your blog. I am sure a lot of mothers will relate to you and your every day challanges with a 3 1/2 year old princess. Keep it coming. I love to read everything you write. God bless you, Pete and Tali.

Hi Teresa! Just got wind of your blog from Sandy and Suzie! Great to finally be able to read some of your stuff. Last time we chatted you were writing reviews for some theatre company (if memory serves me right!), straight out of college and I remember thinking..."Wow, she comes from the "Portuguese hood" and she can write, she must be GOOD!" And I was right! ;) Lovely to see your face, even if just a picture! Take care old friend! Iz xx ("No, Teresa and I are not related!"... I haven't had to say that for a few years now! :)
