Double The Fun

I'm Brianne and I am a local TV producer and videographer in York Region. My job enables me to share stories and experiences with my viewers. At the age of 32 I am now writing a new chapter of my own...I'm a first time expectant mommy of not only one but two bundles of joy! The journey hasn't been an easy one. It's included a devastating miscarriage, infertility fears, followed by the unexpected yet amazing news that my husband and I will be welcoming twins in the spring. I started writing my blogs as a way to share my experiences, the good and the bad, as well as a way to help other moms and dads out there that might be going through something similar.

Not Quite Ready

My bosses have been extremely supportive and understanding throughout my entire pregnancy as well as once the twins were born. When I told them that I had to leave work early due to bed rest, they had my best interests in mind. When I asked them to file paperwork to HR there were no hassles. So when the end of my maternity leave was nearing I shouldn't have been so nervous. You see, after many discussions my husband and I decided that it...

Bone In Pork Chop With Mustard Cream Sauce And Dilly Roast Garlic Potatoes

Bone In Pork Chop With Mustard Cream Sauce and Dilly Roast Garlic Potatoes. A whole meal. A hearty meal. Oh and it was pretty good too. This meal fell into so many categories, there’s the pork, then the sauce, and the side dish of the potatoes. The pork chop was very simply grilled, leaving room for the mustard sauce to come through. The roasted potatoes were lightly flavoured with roasted garlic and dill. Imagine crunching through the shell...

Right on Cue

From the moment your child is born, her survival is dependent on your attachment to her. Nevertheless, the bond you make does more than just allow for survival. Giving Back for Mother’s Day

My journey into motherhood did not start out as I had imagined. Rather than quiet nights spent snuggling my baby, I spent my first few weeks as a mother visiting my baby in a NICU. I wasn’t able to even hold my first born for almost a week, our only touches came when he grasped my fingers through the incubator or our noses touched as I bent over his little bed trying to make sure he knew I was there. This was not how I envisioned...

Breast-Feeding Vs. Bottle-Feeding?

Breast milk is the ideal first food for your little one. But why is this, and does it mean that your baby misses out if breast-feeding isn’t for you? Why breast-feed? • Your milk adapts constantly as your baby needs change. From the nutrient-packed “pre-milk,” known as colostrum, which is produced at birth, to the higher-fat, calorie-dense milk that comes through several days later, its composition evolves to ensure your baby grows...

Getting My Body Back

Before getting pregnant I weighed just under 140 pounds. I was actively involved in Crossfit, I had gained weight in muscle and was pretty happy with my body. I had always planned on being that woman who worked out as long as possible throughout pregnancy. That idea came to an abrupt halt as soon as we found out we were expecting twins. My doctor said only cardio and no heavy lifting which meant bye-bye to Crossfit. Between the four and five...
